This Privacy Policy explains how Justin Calamia, doing business as Love In Focus Films (“Love In Focus,” “we,” “us”), collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you visit loveinfocusfilms.com, use our pricing estimator, sign in to the client portal, or book wedding videography services with us. We’re a small, Hollister, California–based studio, and we only collect what we need to plan, film and deliver your wedding.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Contact and wedding details — names, email address, phone number, wedding date, venue and other filming locations, guest count, and anything you share about your day.
- Package and booking details — the coverage, film and add-ons you choose, estimates, proposals, contracts and the electronic signature you provide (your typed name and drawn signature).
- Planning information — wedding-day questionnaire answers, which may include the names and roles of family members, wedding party and other vendors, schedules and special requests.
- Messages and files — messages you send us in the portal and any photos or documents you attach, including a cover photo you upload to personalize your portal.
- People you invite — the names and email addresses of partners, family members or planners you invite to your portal.
- Payment information — payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card or bank account number. Stripe shares limited details with us, such as the card brand and last four digits, the bank name and last four digits, and the payment status. If you turn on autopay, we keep a record of your authorization (date, time, the email that authorized it, and your IP address).
Information collected automatically
- Sign-in and security data — when you sign in, we create a secure session stored in your browser so you stay signed in. When you sign a contract or authorize autopay, we record your IP address, browser type and time for verification.
- Technical logs — our hosting provider keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) to operate and secure the site.
- No advertising trackers — we don’t use advertising cookies, sell data to data brokers, or track you across other websites. Embedded video players (YouTube or Vimeo) and our payment form (Stripe) may set their own cookies when you use them; their privacy policies apply.
Footage of your wedding
The films we create naturally include video and audio of you, your guests and your day. How we may use that footage (for example in our portfolio) is described in your Wedding Videography Agreement. If you have a privacy concern about a specific guest or moment, just let us know.
How we use your information
- To check availability, prepare estimates and proposals, and respond to your inquiry.
- To provide our services: planning your coverage, filming, editing and delivering your films.
- To run the client portal, including your timeline, contract, payments, messages and the people you invite.
- To process payments, payment plans and (if you choose) automatic payments, and to send receipts.
- To send booking-related emails, such as sign-in codes, reminders, editing updates and delivery notices.
- To share your films and stills in our portfolio and marketing, as permitted by your Agreement.
- To keep accurate business, tax and legal records, prevent fraud and keep the site secure.
We don’t use your information for automated decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you, and we don’t sell it.
How we share information
We share personal information only as needed to run our business:
- Service providers that work on our behalf under confidentiality and data-protection terms: Google Firebase / Google Cloud (website hosting, database, file storage and sign-in), Stripe (payment processing), Resend (email delivery), Google Maps Platform (venue search — the text you type is sent to Google), and Vidflow (online delivery of your films).
- Our team and contractors — second videographers and outside editors who help create your film receive the footage and details they need, and are required to keep them confidential.
- People you invite to your portal can see your wedding information according to the role you give them (for example, a planner can see your timeline but not your payments).
- Legal and safety reasons — if required by law, to enforce our agreements, or to protect the rights, property or safety of our clients, ourselves or others.
- Business transfers — if our business is sold or transferred, your information may transfer with it, subject to this Policy.
We do not sell personal information and do not “share” it for cross-context behavioral advertising, as those terms are defined under California law.
How long we keep information
We keep booking and portal information for as long as needed to provide our services and support you after delivery, and financial records (such as contracts, payments and receipts) for as long as required for tax and legal purposes — generally up to seven years. Your online video album stays active as described in your Agreement. When information is no longer needed, we delete it or de-identify it.
Your choices and rights
- Access and correction — you can see and update much of your information in your portal, or ask us to correct anything that’s wrong.
- Deletion — you can ask us to delete your information. We’ll delete what we can, but may need to keep certain records (such as signed contracts and payment records) to meet legal, tax or accounting obligations.
- Emails — booking-related emails (sign-in codes, receipts, reminders) are part of our service. If we ever send marketing emails, every one will include an easy way to unsubscribe.
- Autopay — you can turn autopay off or change your saved payment method anytime in your portal.
California privacy rights
If you live in California, you may have the right to know what personal information we collect, use and disclose; to request deletion or correction of your personal information; to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information (we don’t sell or share it); and to not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Under California’s “Shine the Light” law, you may ask whether we disclosed personal information to third parties for their direct-marketing purposes — we do not. To make a request, email us at hello@loveinfocusfilms.com. We’ll verify your request by confirming it from the email address associated with your booking, and respond within the time required by law. You may use an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf.
Do Not Track
Because we don’t track visitors across other websites or use advertising trackers, our site works the same whether or not your browser sends a “Do Not Track” signal.
Children’s privacy
Our website and portal are intended for adults planning a wedding and are not directed to children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children through the site. Children may appear in wedding footage as guests; if you’re a parent or guardian with a concern, contact us and we’ll help.
How we protect information
We use industry-standard safeguards, including encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls that limit what each person can see, sign-in codes instead of passwords, and secure, reputable service providers. Payment details are handled by Stripe, a PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor. No system is perfectly secure, so please keep access to your email account secure and let us know right away if you suspect unauthorized access to your portal.
Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We’ll post the new version here with an updated date, and if the changes are significant, we’ll let active clients know by email or in the portal.
